Based on Supermicro's Hyper server range, the Boston GlacierCore 1105-0 is a liquid-cooled server utilising 2-phase direct-to-chip technology sporting the 5th Generation AMD EPYC™ Processors based on Zen 5 architecture.
The Boston GlacierCore 1105-0 server is equipped with a dual SP5 socket motherboard, supporting two AMD EPYC 9005 processors, offering up to 192 cores and 384 threads with a TDP of 500W*. It can accommodate up to 9TB of DDR5-6000MT ECC memory and features three PCIe 5.0 expansion slots. The server is housed in a 1U chassis that supports up to 12 hot-swap NVMe SSDs and includes redundant 2000W Titanium-level power supplies. It also features Supermicro's AIOM, providing versatile networking options and a dedicated IPMI port for remote management.
Boston have partnered with ZutaCore to take the server cooling to the next level. Boston GlacierCore 1105-0 is using HyperCool - direct-on-chip, waterless, evaporative 2-phase liquid cooling. This technology has many benefits – it allows for more stable frequencies under load which increases CPU performance while lowering the overall server power consumption at the same time. It improves energy efficiency and makes high-performance computing possible in the environments limited with air or with high ambient temperature.
